Summary
CLUG income for the financial year consists of funds raised from The Canberra Brick Show 2022 event, memberships, member raffles, donations and affiliate income (Lego.com.au).
As at the end of the financial year we had a total of 248 (up from 177) Members - 167 Adult (up from 123) and 81 Junior members (up from 54) , an increase of 71 members on last financial year.
CLUG currently owns CLUG assets and LEGO sets to an approximately value of $16,477.95, with $8,123.96 atributable to the 2022-23 Financial Year and takes into account $5,934.62 in assets gifted to our members over the last 12 months.
This includes Event Support received from the LEGO Group, bricks on loan to members, sets and pieces on-hand along with equipment used for CLUG events and the Canberra Brick Show. Some assets were donated and others purchased by CLUG.
Other LEGO previously received by CLUG including random parts bags and Tubs of Bricks are no longer provided by the LEGO Group.
The remaining random parts bags will continue to be used for prizes until they are exhausted. Existing Tubs of Bricks will be used for play during meetings.
All sets and mixed parts are used for CLUG raffles, giveaways and the Christmas Party.
There are no current liabilies for the financial year, however there is a forecasted expenditure of $16,661.52 for the Canberra Brick Show 2023 venue and associated costs.
Any profits made from raffle ticket sales are given back to the members either via the purchase of raffle prizes or the annual Christmas party.
Outlook
CLUG membership has increased in the past financial year (2022 - 2023), which we believe has been assisted by the promotion of CLUG, the introduction of the annual Canberra Brick Show, the further decreasing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and a continued family focus including a strong focus on encouraging children to participate in monthly meeting and CLUG events.
It is hoped members will continue to support the group by remaining paid members during the next financial year.
The added focus of including children in each meeting is still popular with families, with a large number of children atending meetings each month.
AFOLs will also be looked aer during the next financial year with a number of events being planned, including the Canberra Brick Show 2023, and another LUGBulk and Project Support Collaboration Build opportunity on offer.
This report, together with the financial statements, outlines the Canberra LEGO User Group financial activities for the period 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023. I commend the report to you as members and recommend its adopon.
